Casting the part of a figure from ancient history is always difficult. The ambiguity around their appearance offers some artistic license, but the casting still has to be made believable.
Unfortunately for the historical epic ‘Alexander’, the casting of Colin Farrell as the title character was not seen by critics as a successful choice. Reviewers most often pointed out that Farrell could not mask his Irish accent very well, undermining the authenticity of the performance somewhat.
