2004’s ‘Troy’ is a fictionalized retelling of the Trojan War, and stars Brad Pitt as the legendary hero Achilles – a choice that some critics felt was a mistake. Although he had been in well-received films, Pitt was still known first and foremost as a heartthrob, and it was this energy that critics believed undermined his role.
Rather than come across as a fierce and stalwart ancient warrior, they felt that Brad simply came across as a Hollywood hunk lost in time.
