Lex Luthor is most often portrayed as an urbane, charismatic evil genius who hides his true intentions behind a facade of respectability. As such, critics and audiences alike were extremely confused by the creative decisions made by Jesse Eisenberg when playing Luthor in the film ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
Critics felt that Eisenberg made the character far too theatrical and exuberant, losing the calm and collected intelligence that has made Luthor such a fascinating villain for decades.
