The 2005 superhero film ‘Batman Begins’ revitalized ‘Batman’ films and helped spark the superhero boom that continues to this day. Largely well received, one aspect of the film that did receive criticism was the character of Rachel Dawes, played by Katie Holmes.
Reviewers felt that Holmes was largely forgettable throughout the film, and was unable to bring the character fully to life – although they did also claim that this was in part due to the role not being very substantial or well-integrated into the story.
