‘Highlander’ is a fantasy epic about immortal beings who sword fight for the right to be the only highlander out there – so it’s not something to be taken too seriously. However, for critics, the film stretched fantasy a little too far with the casting of Sean Connery as Ramirez.
In case you didn’t know, Sean Connery is very very Scottish – while Ramirez is a man who is originally from Egypt who lived in Spain for years. As such, people felt Connery struggled a little to pull the role off.
