When actors appear in a big budget franchise movie, they often seek out roles in more serious films in an attempt to prove that they’re actually a serious actor. That was what Robert Pattinson did in 2009, when he appeared in ‘Little Ashes’ a year after appearing in the first ‘Twilight’ movie.
The film stars Pattinson as the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, and while critics felt that he had given the role his all, it was clear that Pattinson wasn’t yet capable of playing such an extreme and unique character.
