When a remake of the animated film ‘Aladdin’ was announced, there was a lot of anticipation around who was going to play the role of the Genie – made beloved by the legendary comedian Robin Williams.
When the role was given to actor and rapper Will Smith, people were cautiously optimistic about his ability to do the role justice. Unfortunately, when the movie premiered, fans and critics felt that Smith was simply unable to match Williams’ truly historic performance. Some shoes are just too big to fill.
