In ‘Superman Returns’, the part of daring and intelligent reporter Lois Lane is played by Kate Bosworth. While audiences and critics felt that Bosworth’s performance was perfectly good, they found her age to be something of a sticking point.
Bosworth was just twenty-two years old when the film was made, and her character was meant to have already been a high-profile reporter for at least five years. As such, critics felt Bosworth had a difficult job making the part believable as an actress that was clearly in her early twenties.
