Moving from singing to acting is difficult enough, and moving from comedy to serious work is even harder. As such, the cards were stacked against Justin Timberlake when he decided to appear in ‘Wonder Wheel’, a film about romantic complications at a beachside amusement park.
Timberlake had a lead role in the film, but had mostly worked on light-hearted comedies beforehand – which meant critics felt that a lack of experience with more profound material left him unable to pull off a more serious film.
