The start of the Hunger Games is a downright mess, with contestants making a crazy run directly for the supplies only to get attacked in the process. Luckily for Katniss and Peeta, their mentor Haymitch advised them to head for the woods instead.
Did none of the other contestants’s mentors prep them on how to begin the game? Even if this is the case, have they never seen or heard about the games before? Did they really think they were going to just stroll up to the weapons and grab a backpack completely unharmed?
