When Katniss gets close to the arena’s border in the first film, the gamemakers use their advanced technology to turn on an intense forest fire capable of dropping trees and shooting fire balls with pinpoint accuracy.
All this can also be turned off with a simple push of a button, because really – why not. While it definitely makes for a cool action scene, it is hard not to laugh at these ridiculous mechanics that for some reason are never truly explained.
