When Steve and Pat made the decision to permanently welcome Tenzin into their home, they wanted him to have a fresh start. So, they decided to change his name and call him Steve Carter Jr.
However, they didn’t want him to lose everything about his former identity, so they kept the name Tenzin as a middle name for the youngster. After leaving Hawaii, they moved to New Jersey, and Steve’s parents attempted to give him everything he could have ever wanted in his life. In fact, he lived a very privileged life.
