At my husband’s work, there was a girl who called in one day from a number that was different than her own. She said that she couldn’t come to work because she had just been carjacked.
What she actually said was, “I won’t be able to come in all week.” That seemed a bit far-fetched, so one of the managers decided to call her actual cell phone number. And lo and behold, she answers with “Hey, I’m driving, who’s this?” That was the end of that, of course.
