[post_page_title]Garry Shandling[/post_page_title]
If you’ve ever enjoyed Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office, you should thank Garry Shandling. Starring on the groundbreaking The Larry Sanders Show on HBO, it also gave the cable network its first touch of prestige. On March 24, 2016, Shandling collapsed in his home. He would pass away, aged 66, of a pulmonary embolism.
Four days before his unexpected demise, comedienne Kathy Griffin tweeted this photo of her, Shandling, and Bob Odenkirk. Poignantly, just before he passed Shandling reflected on the death of his friend Robin Williams, and said that he wanted a boxing referee at his own funeral to decree that “he’s not getting up.”
