[post_page_title]Steve Irwin[/post_page_title]
For years, the Crocodile Hunter entertained countless people while bringing attention to very important issues of animal conservation. It’s somewhat ironic, then, that one of them took Steve Irwin’s life. On September 4, 2006, he was filming a documentary called Ocean’s Deadliest in Queensland, Australia.
During filming, he was stung hundreds of times in the span of a few seconds by a six-and-a-half-foot-wide stingray. “I’m dying,” were reportedly his last words. These photos are screen-captures from a video taken one day prior, by a British tourist. Footage of the accident existed, but it was destroyed by Irwin’s family, so these are the last known images of him.
