A big deal was made about the fact that Sansa loves lemon cakes, but Sophie Turner didn’t share that passion. In the books many fans are aware that Sansa really does love lemon cakes, so they were always going to make an appearance in the show.
By the end of filming her scenes with the cakes, Turner had eaten so many of them that she was put off the treats. Despite her need to distance herself from them, fans of the show still send Turner lemon cakes.
