When the showrunners were looking to cast someone as Theon Greyjoy’s sister, they considered Alfie Allen’s real-life sibling. Lily Allen was reportedly considered for the role, but Alfie turned it down for her.
He allegedly didn’t want to work with her, and considering one scene in particular on horseback, it’s probably for the best that Lily didn’t portray Yara Greyjoy. Still, we’ll never know how good it would have been to have Lily as Theon’s sister, but the actress who got the part, Gemma Whelan, did a great job.
