Unfortunately, despite having proof that he was in the right, the local authorities weren’t willing to help Oliver out. Even with that copy of the deed, they said he had to resolve the issue himself, or taking the neighbor to court.
So, the senior man could either pay to have the blocks removed, or make matters more serious than they needed to be by going to court. Either way, he’d have to fork out for something that wasn’t his fault, all because someone else had tried their luck on his property.
