After Oliver’s neighbor started things off in a bad way between them, it would have been easy for them to never speak to each other. That’s not Oliver’s style, and he let his initial upset about the driveway go, and put it in the past.
There is no sense in holding on to a meaningless grudge if you don’t need to, so Oliver didn’t. Instead, he can use his driveway the way it was intended, and he doesn’t have to avoid eye contact with his neighbor when he sees him.
