Although it’s a kids’ film, Frozen II has some very deep, socially relevant themes that critics were quick to pick up on. A key example is the dam, which was built by Elsa and Anna’s grandfather in order to destroy Northuldra and the connection the girls had to the Enchanted Forest. Things only return to normal once Anna breaks down the dam. There are some pretty deep revelations here, touching on issues like paying for the sins of the past, and the impact of greed and too much power.
