While the first film had plenty of twists and turns, it was ultimately a classic fairytale with a happy ending. However, things change drastically in the sequel, where Elsa’s hearing voices, Olaf has existential angst, and a magical river reveals deep, dark secrets about the past. While these elements are interesting, there was too much going on for the movie to truly make sense. Of course, plot holes and convoluted storylines don’t matter to kids, which is why the sequel still earned over $1 billion at the box office.
