As a small and relatively peaceful country, Norway does not have a need for a particularly large army. Nonetheless, it still maintains a military – one that has 23,000 active members, and 40,000 reserve members.
Despite its small size, the Norwegian military was one of the founding members of NATO, and Norway currently spends the most on its military of any European member of NATO. As far as military vehicles go, Norway is well-placed to protect itself on land, sea, and air – with 52 tanks, 62 ships, and 104 aircraft.
