As far as the largest military in the world goes, that designation belongs to the military of North Korea. The East Asian country has 1.2 million active personnel, 600,000 reserve, and a whopping 5 million paramilitary personnel.
All in all, that brings the Korean military to 7 million in personnel – more than a quarter of the total population. The military of North Korea is a developing one – and not a lot is known about the details of how it operates and what tasks it undertakes.
