Italy’s military shares its duties with one or two other institutions. The European country’s military has a roster of active personnel that numbers just over 170,000, and a reserve force that numbers just over 18,000. In addition, the military has access to ships, tanks, and aircraft, but some of these are operated by the police.
The Italian military works with a division of the police called the Guardia di Finanza – which has a large range of seacraft and aircraft at its disposal, and works with the military.
