The military of Mexico is one with a very strict purview, that directs exactly what it can and cannot do. For instance, Mexico’s military is forbidden from leaving the country to engage in a conflict, unless it has been granted authority by the government under extreme circumstances.
As such, most of the Mexican military’s job is to defend the country from external threats, tackle internal threats, and help civilians in the event of a natural disaster. The military has 277,000 active personnel and 81,000 reserve personnel.
