[post_page_title]Czech Republic[/post_page_title]
The military of the Czech Republic is fairly new, having been set up in 1993 when Czechoslovakia dissolved into the separate states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Czechoslovakia had previously possessed a military of around 200,000 members, but after the formation of the Czech Republic the military was downsized considerably – currently standing at 66,000 active personnel and 25,000 reserve personnel. The military of the Czech Republic is not concerned so much with fighting domestic conflicts nowadays, directing most of its attention to humanitarian work instead.
