That must have been one surreal shoot for Sarah Drew, who portrayed Dr. April Kepner on several seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. In season 14, Kepner and her paramedic beau Matthew are involved in a near-fatal car crash, which causes April to go into hypothermia.
That does explain Drew’s purplish lips, but we are a little vague on why the production created a fake upper body that looks exactly like her. Maybe they really didn’t trust her not to fidget when she was being carted away? Anyway, once again a dramatic moment is undercut by an actor making silly faces, but we’re not even mad.
