Hard to believe the original Star Trek led to so many successful and big-budget television shows and even movies. Not too shabby for a show that ran for just three seasons… Here we have the two stars, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, in full costume as Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, enjoying a quiet moment on-set by reading a very earthly copy of Mad Magazine.
It still exists in the 23th century? Who knew? Nah, they’re actually reading issue 115 from December, 1967, which just so happened to contain Star Blecch, Mad’s parody of the show. We love how totally in-character Shatner and Nimomy’s reactions are!
