Orion slave girls, as the green-skinned temptresses are known, have been part of Star Trek since the original show’s very first episode. Always controversial, often imitated, they have gone on to make multiple appearances throughout the franchise’s many shows. Even though their concept is pretty cheesy, they’ve become as synonymous with Star Trek as “Live long and prosper.”
That’s why it’s so jarring watching the green being applied to the slave girl! To be exact, this is actress Menina Fortunato having her fingertips diligently painted for her Enterprise appearance by makeup wizard Belinda Bryant. Bryant worked on three Star Trek shows and three feature films across 13 years.
