You just received a beautiful bouquet of flowers, but feel bad about how soon they’re going to wilt. Sure, they come with that little bag of flower food, but that’ll only work for a few days at best. To keep your flowers fresh as long as possible, add a pinch of salt to the vase. It makes sense, considering the plant food in those packets is basically saline solution. Adding salt will nourish the flowers while helping to reduce the growth of bacteria in the water.
