It’s ironic, but salt can help keep flowers alive while killing many other plants, including poison ivy. Simply mix up a saltwater solution and spray it all over the plants to kill them off without the use of toxic chemicals. However, make sure to watch where you’re spraying to avoid damaging any plants you actually want to keep. If you’d like to boost the power of the saltwater mixture, try adding a spoonful of dishwashing soap, or use vinegar in place of water.
