[post_page_title]Putting out fires[/post_page_title]
A roaring fire is perfect for setting the mood, but putting it out before going to bed can be quite a bit of work. To extinguish that fire as quickly as possible, douse it with salt to smother the flames. Let the fire smolder until it dies down on its own, which will reduce the amount of soot. The salt will also bind the ash and residue, thereby making it easier for you to sweep it out.
