There is no difference between this problem and the classic one using feathers and rocks. When we were young, it wasn’t uncommon to be asked which weighed the most, a ton of feather or a ton of rocks.
Of course, they both weigh the same, but because it’s comparing feathers and rocks, people assume the rocks are heavier. That appears to be what has happened in this situation with one gram of diamonds somehow also weighing 15 grams.
