It’s nice to believe that everyone in the United States could become a millionaire if they all bought lottery tickets, but that’s not how it works. Not only does it require the winner to share all of their money, but the math is also quite wrong.
If 318 million people were each to receive a million dollars, then the lottery pot should be much larger than 318 million. If the jackpot remained the same, each person would receive just one dollar.
