Appearing in a few episodes over the course of 1994 to 1995, Sherman Hemsley played Captain Marion Savage. People who are super into the first few seasons of the show will recall Carl’s boss Lieutenant Murtaugh, and Marion Savage is the man who came after him to serve as the person who was in charge of Carl.
While opinions on Murtaugh as a character were mixed, most people thought Savage was way, way worse. Marked by his obnoxious personality, he wasn’t the most likeable character on the show.
