Of course, it wasn’t Richard alone who was affected by the revelation. His entire family was as well, as they had suddenly found out their nephews – and especially grandchildren – were truly theirs. Brenda, Richard’s mom, took it hardest of all.
The 85-year-old suffers from Alzheimer’s, and when Richard visits once or twice a week, she always asks how the boys are doing. While he tries to evade the topic, he eventually has to tell her they’re no longer in touch, and reveal the reason why – again and again and again.
