Two days after Richard’s talk with his son, Kate called. Willem had confronted her, and according to him, she broke down and finally decided to tell the truth. In a daze, Richard listened as she reportedly admitted that she had an on-again, off-again affair during their 20-year marriage.
She apparently met the man, whom she categorically refused to name, at a London hotel on several occasions during overnight work-related trips. While she admitted to have been unfaithful not just emotionally but physically as well, she maintained the unnamed man couldn’t be the boys’ father since they used protection.
