[post_page_title]A first of its kind legal case[/post_page_title]
Richard’s attorney, Roger Terrell, was a seasoned vet when it came to paternity fraud, but he had never come across such a case. In essence, Richard was asking to have the divorce settlement renegotiated in light of his discovery, while also seeking damages from Kate for the paternity fraud she had alleged perpetrated for more than two decades.
Eventually, the two settled out of court for a reported $325,000 out of the lump sum he had given her. While Richard did score a legal win, even if it was a partial one, nothing is without a price.
