The two kicked off 2020 with a bang by releasing a statement out of nowhere announcing their intention to depart, and almost immediately rumors began swirling that they’d failed to clear it – or even inform – anyone else beforehand. One senior palace source confirmed this idea, calling it a “declaration of war” on the family. There was fury over how Harry and Meghan handled things, they added, caused the Queen to be “deeply upset.”
