This great photo of a hippo alongside a toddler at the New York Aquarium shows just how big hippos really are.
Hippos can reach up to 17 feet long and weigh nearly 4,000 pounds! Hippos love the water, which is why the Greeks named them ‘River horse’ but they need to resurface every three to five minutes in order to breath – which is what this plump guy seems to be seen doing here. Talk about a perfectly-timed photo!
