We always see photos of the world’s largest animals, but just how large are they exactly?
From dogs that are taller than their owners and grasshoppers that are longer than our hands, to terrifying spiders with five-inch long legs – these comparison photos show just how big these animals really are.
[post_page_title]Ocean sunfish as baby vs. adult[/post_page_title]
Believe it or not, these two pictures are of the same type of animal, the ocean sunfish. While they may be teeny tiny as babies, they grow to be one of the heaviest known bony fishes in the world.
Adult ocean sunfish typically weigh anywhere between 545 to 2,205 pounds! Despite being giants themselves, they are still vulnerable to some of the ocean’s larger predators such as killer whales, sharks, and sea lions. We can’t imagine getting to swim with one of these guys!
