Critics were quick to bash Oliver Stone’s 2004 historical drama Alexander shortly after its release. While there were many issues with the film based on the life of Alexander the Great, one of the biggest problems had to do with its two leads.
While Colin Farrell starred as the titular character, Angelina Jolie played his mother, Olympias. The only problem, however, was that Jolie was only 29 at the time, just one year older than her on-screen son – something that viewers could just not get over.
