Some kids like to treat their moms and dads as though they are their own personal maid service. That’s not what parents are for, and this mom or dad has had enough of being taken advantage of. They are now responding to their child’s laziness with threats of disconnecting the internet.
That really ought to get their attention because it seems to be the one thing they care about more than anything else. Of course, this can all go away if the kid just cleans up their own kitchen mess.
