These standards have been set for them by the royals and staff must make sure to have everything in its rightful place.
Even the Queen’s bedsheets take an hour to iron to make sure they are perfect for when she sleeps. Silverware on the tables must be lined up correctly, and it’s not uncommon to find butlers measuring the table layout with rulers. Symmetry is important, and staff must have things looking right, for example, striped cushions must all be facing in the same direction.
