You have to stick to the rules when working at the palace, and the Royal Family expect staff to be fully aware of their responsibilities. There is a long list of rules that staff must follow or else they’ll get the boot. Staff have to learn the rules pretty quickly or face the wrath of the Royal Family.
The rules they have to abide by include not drawing any attention to themselves and refraining from vacuuming until 10am at the earliest. Royals like their sleep it seems and will not tolerate being woken early. Staff must also use the edges of the carpet to walk on, to make sure the middle is not worn out by their feet.
