[post_page_title]Take your shoes off![/post_page_title]
You shouldn’t fight the TSA on any regulations, but don’t for this one especially, because there are no exceptions. All travelers are required to take their shoes off at security. The reason for this is because a man named Richard Reid tried to smuggle explosives on a flight in his shoes in 2001.
The only way to avoid this is if you apply for a TSA Precheck. This is where a thorough background check is done on you, and if you’re approved, you don’t have to remove any items off of your body!
