While we know that policies vary from airport to airport, which seems to be a big issue for some people, this is a general practice. Security officers who check out people’s credentials and identity can write something on your ticket to prompt a more thorough search.
They also have to write in their initials and their badge number, so that it’s clear they have been through security when they are boarding the plane. Watch out for those code names.
