Sanitizing your cutting board is essential for killing off harmful bacteria, but wooden boards can be easily damaged in the dishwasher. Once again, here’s where salt can come to the rescue! Start by rinsing the board with warm water. Then, sprinkle the surface with salt (the coarser the better), squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the board, and work the mixture into the board with a scrub brush. Finish by rinsing with hot running water and letting the board dry in an upright position.
