Besides doodling on our desks until our hands were a grey mess, this was another popular way to pass the time during boring classes. It didn’t make much sense, but was completely irresistible.
Many of us also did this using mechanical pencils – which added an extra layer to the challenge. Because that thin, thin lead would break oh so easily. So in the end we had an eraser filled with tiny pieces of lead, but nothing to write with.
