The world of drag racing had been dominated by men before Jungle Pam came along, and she was one of the first women in the sport. Pam became an icon by becoming Jim’s cheerleader and his inspirational girlfriend.
While Jim was busy performing in the car, Pam was busy too, whipping up the crowd and getting them to cheer for team Jungle. She would find this attention would lead to international acclaim, and soon magazine spreads and public appearances became the norm for her.
